DAMPER SET SOLD AST 4100's, original owner sold them to me since his car was coming up on the end of his lease. e82 and e9x (non-m) are the same kit by the way. $1,400 I'm selling because I'm moving into a dedicated e36 racecar and a different daily driver of some kind. These are still in the boxes direct from AST, as all four are freshly rebuilt. Tim (original owner) had these made for him with 550# front, 600# rear, spec'd that way for him by BR Racing in California. Hyperco springs. Springs are included in price. Your other option is to swap the rears with swift springs that I bought (784# i believe is the conversion), but I wouldn't recommend it without upgraded rear subframe bushings (recommendation given to me by both TC Kline website, and my BMW guy who installed my diff for me). I grabbed swift thrust sheets that I'll include as well, AST height adjusters, and if I can find them in my parts bin, AST cable adjusters for the rear. I'm moving currently, so though I'm busy, I'll also *have* to take inventory pretty soon on all my stuff. Also available, Vorshlag camber plates. BR put a new bearing in it, and Vorshlag has since looked them over and blessed as their true bullet-proof selves. They look aged (looked exactly like this when i got them from Tim), but like I said, Vorshlag blessed. Figured to start the plates at $225. I'll ship at buyer's expense. I'm in the NW suburbs of Chicago, and will be travelling to Columbia MO this Saturday (November 3rd), so things actually along that path could be a delivery. I can post pics of the boxes, but I'd rather not open them unless a serious buyer has expressed real interest. Fresh rebuilt from AST looks less "fresh" when the box is opened. I have top nuts of a few varieties for the camber plates, the stock top mounts as well. The rest is in "make an offer" stage Still on the car but soon to come off... Just cleared space in my PM box, apologies...
I'll follow-up when I get the Strut Brace off the car. I might be too busy to do that this weekend, lots of unpacking/shopping/and waiting on Direct TV going down... |

Yes, I still have the OS Giken diff. Right now I'm still considering my options. I might uninstall it and sell it just an a used unit. I might keep it to eventually put in a 325is (same unit between the cars).
The other option is if someone wants to swap whole Carriers. This is a steptronic carrier with the shorter final gear. I've been told by a couple of people (including the Berk race team) that the Carriers swap directly from Manual to Steptronic. Option two, I'd be looking for the other party to cover Labor for Carrier Swaps +$cash. (Carrier Swap also saves both parties on Diff Oil, though a diff oil change on my carrier should probably happen in the next 6 months/5,000 miles) |

Just a quick update, I don't have internet at home for awhile. I don't have much time at work to pop in, but it'll be my only avenue for a bit.

Do you have pictures of the suspension "package"?
Also, would you happen to be going back to COMO anytime soon? edit: just noticed your line about not wanting to crack open the boxes. Last edited by FOACAD; 12-05-2012 at 03:56 PM.. |

I do have pictures of the assorted other stuff, it's just the dampers themselves that are in boxes still from AST.
No, I don't think I'll be coming through anytime soon. It was a crazy long drive to try to do back and forth in a day. |
