custom engine cover. N54.
Just had some work done on my car at the body shop and requested they paint my engine cover also.

Now THAT looks great. Great idea too, gonna have to see how much extra it would cost to have mine done when it's in for paint next.

Original post updated with better photos. Hope this inspires people a little and we get our engine bays looking a bit more interesting. The JDM crowd has a lot of engine bay dress up and we need some too
As for durability, time will tell but heat doesn't seem to be an issue at all so far, theres a fairly thick piece of foam insulation right under the plastic cover that is doing a very good job of keeping the cover warm to the touch but nothing crazy that would make the finish get messed up.
