Is there a fix for the Turbo lag, throttle tip in and sound decrease for a 6MT? Everything I find is for the DCT owners. I miss my fun noises!!!!

Thanks! I will try that!

Well, I was about to make a separate thread until I came across this sticky.

I've owned my 2012 135i with DCT for almost a week now and immediately I noticed this throttle and idle lag everyone is mentioning here.

I would come to a complete stop and the revs would rev up to around 1,000rpms and stay there for a couple seconds. It would then go back to regular idle revs. This definitely does not feel normal.

All of this is also even more exaggerated when my AC is on.

Looks like I need this SIB 12 15 14.

I'm in Canada. Will BMW SA's here know what that means or is there a different code I will need to provide?

Not sure what the story is in Canada. You can describe your issues and ask them about SIB 12-15-14 and see what they say.

Will do. Hopefully, SIB 12-15-14 is universal language for BMW.

Or... you can buy the PPK sw from BMW and get the car fixed forever. Even IF you have your SW updated down the road... BMW will know your car has PPK sw and it will always be there.

I'm on my 3rd 135 had a 08, 11 Msport and now a 135is, all verts The 11 had the lag, printed the SMB took it to the dealer and had it programed, it helped somewhat. Dack is right get the PPK and Exhaust you'll love it

shopbmwusa.com sells it for $800. Ask your dealer or do a search for a better price.

http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/35...ANCE-POWER-KIT

Edit: BMW increased the price to $900.

Thanks! For some reason, I was thinking that it would be a lot more expensive.

Anyway, I've decided to see if I can have them update the DME software first and if that fixes it, then great. Either way, I'll think about adding the PPK on in the future. For now, I want to enjoy the car in stock form.

I don't know if you've read through this thread completely but if you do you'll notice that not everybody was completely happy with the software update. Also, PPK does not completely fix these issues for everybody. I guess there is no cure-all, for all. I'd do the software update first as well though because if you're still under warranty, and you probably are, at least it won't cost you anything.

I have the PPK 1 (2011 DCT 135i) and still have the RPM fluctuations/lurching and the bottom end lag.....

I do have a service appointment Monday and will enquire about the shitty performance........ Of course, I am 7 months out of warranty....

Well, maybe if you have a really good relationship with your dealer they'll do the software update and not charge you. Honestly, I doubt it though. My dealer said it would cost two hours labor out of warranty. Good luck and keep us informed.

Concur. It's a different car now, and no worries about getting run over while waiting for the throttle to engage. I still try to fake it out sometimes with slow roll sudden acceleration, and it has never hiccuped since the latest SW fix.

The DCT was not available on the N54. N54 has the steptronic transmission (2008-2010). N55 has the DCT (2011-2013). Plus manual transmission for both, of course.
