Smog Check: OBD Communication Failed
Hi guys,
I have just bought my very first BMW, which is a 2009 135i, when I go to smog my car in order to transfer it under my name, everything passed, but the OBD communication failed, the guy at the smog shop just plugs the logger or something and it shows "NO RESPOND". Has anyone here had the same problem before? Thanks, Chaulet |

Check your car for mods. You may have a JB4 tucked away in the car. Other than that, unplug your battery for 20+ minutes, plug it back in and drive the car for like 50 miles. That'll see you straight.

Open up the DME box in the engine bay, it's tucked up in the upper left (pass side) of the bay. Or, sit in the car with the car on and simultaneously hit both of the "down" buttons on the steering wheel to try and open up the JB4 window.
