I may be able to get away with an ET42 but know for a fact that ET45 won't work (at least on my car). You'll need some camber dialed in to make it work without hitting the fender. I'm at -1.5 with no rub.
Heeltoe, good data. I was planning to try 235/40 in the front. Do you have any experience with with that?

With an et40 in the front did you require any fender work or just camber? Are you lowered at all?

It is somewhat distorted, but it is still true that they are significantly larger.

I run the EC-7s (18x8.5 et45, 18x9.5 et58) with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3s (235/40r18 and 275/35r18) on stock suspension. No rubbing at all and I've cut 1.9x 60ft at the track with minimal prep. Not bad for all seasons.

Do you have any feel for how close you are to rubbing? I'm on bmwp springs (0.5" drop) with bilstein HD dampers. So I need to account for added thickness of dampers and slightly lower height. Also how close is the tire sidewall to the edge of the fender. If you could grab pictures of this setup I would greatly appreciate it.

The front tires are very close to the shocks and the rears are also pretty close to the inside liner. But I've heard that Michelins (especially the PSS) usually run wider than other manufacturers' tires.

Will take some pics tomorrow after work.

The rears have a tiny bit of room.

The fronts are maxed out from the looks of it. Also seems like they've rubbed the fender, barely. Never noticed nor felt it though.

Hope the pics help!

^ No prob!

The fronts are less than a quarter of an inch away.

The issue with the rears is that they'll start rubbing against the inside liner before they hit the suspension. There's about a third of an inch to half an inch at most there.

I'm changing my trans and diff fluids soon so I'll grab exact measurements while I'm underneath.

My mods are listed below. I'm basically FBO minus the down pipe. I'm estimating 340whp. I'm finished with the engine for now but would like to eventually upgrade the oil cooler and go to Dinan stage 3 software. The problem is I cannot put the power I have to the ground. First and second gears require a lot of attention and modulation to prevent the tires from breaking loose.

Is there a wheel that will allow wider rubber to fit without rubbing or fender modification? I hear a lot about apex wheels with a rear offset of 62mm but I'm not sure what the proper offset is for the front. I'm not happy with the hankooks and will be going with nittos or PSS when I make this switch.

I know LSD would solve all my problems but I don't see myself going that route at this time.
I've run Apex Arc 8's with 255/285 AD08's on the car. Pics are in some other forum somewhere. Requires -1.5 to -1.8 camber rear and zero toe. You rub with the rear tires on the inside front of the wheel (hence zero toe requirement). With 275's you can run a very small amount of toe and be ok.

If you widen the front fenders you can go up to 285 square without any permanent damage to the car.

Also, a LSD won't solve all your issues, it just makes new ones. You'll have too much power in the rear and be able to break your tires free mid corner quite easily. With all the SW upgrades to run the turbos at higher pressure, it's a bit less controllable than if it were stock sw or a NA engine.

Good luck. PM if any direct questions.
