Exclamation Code 27C1 Help!!!

Someone please help...i was driving and hit some rough uneven roads. My service engine light came on and the car started driving funny...every time I hit the throttle, the car started to shake. After about a mile the problem stopped and the service engine went away. I ran the JB4 scan tool and am coming up with code 27C1...can someone please please help me figure out or understand what the hell just happened and what I need to do???!!!

sure sounds like a misfire to me, and i thinks thats a misfire code, though dont quote me on it. If you google around youll find bmw code lists, if you cant i have them in a spreadsheet at home, so i can look it up if need be. Misfires happen, your car is likely just fine. A few main culprits could be causing this

plugs
injectors
coils

Do some forum searching and youll see what the procedure is for finding where the misfire is/ if it "follows" when you swap coil packs. Good luck, I wouldnt freak out these things happen.

the next step is injectors, well actually the next step is to confirm your code is for a misfire. If you replaced the plugs with bmw oe they should be OK.

Unless this is another case of Dackelone's "use only BMW spark plugs, not Bosch". IIRC, BMS sells the Bosch ones.

Burger sell bosch plugs? I just ran the scan tool...it came up 29D1 misfire in cylinder 5..fml. Not that big of a deal I guess but now I need to figure out whether it is the plug or the coil...any ideas? Or is switching a different coil to that cylinder the only way to figure it out?

I was just gonna say....

There is a KNOWN problem with aftermarket spark plugs. BUY plugs from a BMW dealer only. Don't you think its wiser to spend $90 on OE plugs than (cheap) OEM ones. ?

There are also N55 and N54 specific plugs. Check your part numbers to make sure you get the correct ones. See page two of my DIY.

I've had them for only 3 weeks or so now. Seems so strange that I'm having issue if that's what's causing it. Ill see tomorrow what the deal is

Swap coils between cylinders. They're prone to failure as well, especially following removal and reinstallation

I drove the car aeveral hours ago. Ran fine without a misfire. Boost was low though probably cause the car was still cold and the JB4 prevents full boosting until oil temp is right. Are the misfires just going to be on and off like this? Sorry just never experienced one before and never had it done to a car of mine

You should NEVER be hard on your car until oil temps are up. Have a little respect for your car!

Oh I am never. Wasn't really getting on it but I could feel it being sluggish like usual when it's cold. I take really good care of her and making sure she is fully warmed up until I have some fun. My cel is off and I'm not throwing any codes which means I can't even find out what was wrong with it until she throws me another code :-(
