Not sure why you quoted my response in your post, as I make no mention his experience and results are equivalent to the abuse in a HPDE. My comparison is to the factory rotors, that's it.

No need for "tone," bro.

I misread your post.

Tone? To be completely honest you're being a bit of a jackass.

Reply to the statement about E30 parts directly from RB.

Saw this reply.

RB only offers M3 (from E36 to F80), never dealt with E30. You can search our web to confirm his false statement.
It's pointless to engage into this kind of groundless and non-sense argument. I hope reviving 135i brake upgrade can mean something to us. In fact we are very busy in dealing with other jobs/projects where people can't find solutions from those big names.

If you want to read what I posted, it was using a Corrado rotor for an RX-7 kit for E30s.

I believe they were VW Corrado rotors (larger and still vented than stock E30 front brakes) for the guys that were doing the RX-7 based BBKs.

Perhaps their quality is up since then, no idea, I understand problems happen it was more their response to the issue.

Couple of questions after seeing the pics:

1) What thickness of pad was used in the mockup?

2) Is there enough room with the thicker disc for shims behind the brake pads? I use a set of old pad backing plates as shims.

Pretty sure that was done with the OE pad considering that was the main concern with the rotor revision. I sent you a PM with RB contact info. If you would, forward those questions to RB directly and they'll sort you out!

Pics?

After reading this thread I'm quite curious to see pictures and hear feedback on how the rotors are. Also I noticed they sell entire BBK's now for our car including a 380mm front? Is that even possible fitment wise?

Rotors are phenomenal. True to weight advertised, haven't visibly rusted thanks to the design and refuse to fade on the street which I was able to accomplish with stock pieces. No cracking whatsoever. Their brake pads also wear evenly, are quiet. Low dust, and come up to temp fast.

I genuinely have no complaints aside from the pads having no integrated shim and due to rotor and pad thickness you have to run shimless at first or grind the pads down. You can hear them click on first braking forward or back. No big deal.

As for 380mm rotors, possible with the right wheel. Issue will be caliper. Would be more cost effective to buy a F8x oe bbk from a part out or wreck.

Myself I'm moving to the 345x28mm E46 CSL 2 piece rotor up front and will have my RB 2pc for sale soon. Keeping the 2pc rears. I love them.

Cool thanks for the info. When I bought the car a few weeks ago the dealer installed new rotors and pads in the rear so I'm only looking to do the fronts for now. Any idea how these compare to the ECS 2 piece? I was thinking of getting those along with the redstuff from EBC. I like EBC rotors but they don't have a 2 piece. With the CSL rotors will you be able to use the stock caliper still?

RB are lighter than the ECS by a pound if I recall and thicker. Better rotor.

I'll be using 135i Brembos using an adapter bracket. But there's more to it, I'll also be using the F8x uprights and a custom M3 front suspension.

Also does the 2 piece front pair come with pads? I don’t see any info about pads on the site.

No. You add pads. Should be info on them on the page. If not, email them. Pretty responsive.
