Anyone noticed the black boot lip from this supplier is a little odd? I did some comparison side by side with a carbon performance spoiler. The performance spoiler extends further out from the boot.
This is an example of what mine looks like And this is how i want it to look Is there 2 version from this vendor? |

I'd have to use the heat gun (as others have) to make it fit the vert. Won't that damage the paint?

For those of you who have installed the spoiler with the 3M tape. Did you tape right to the edges of the spoiler and can you notice it? I know the tape is very thin but is it visible once stuck down? I.e. can you see a thin grey line of the tape between the boot and spoiler?
I'm wondering if i just bite the bullet and use the BMW adhesive or just use the tape supplied. |

My spoiler just arrived. Fitment looked pretty close on the E88. My car is dirty as crap right now so I need to wash & prep the paint before attempting to install it.

Those wheels look great. What's the offset if you don't mind me asking. I have a set from my old e46 but fear it might be too low...

Mine fit beautifully! Used a dry erase marker and measuring tape to center it. Took about 15 minutes to install and I have had it for 3 months now with 3M...love it!

May be a bit late on posting to this particular issue, but I have personally purchased this item and I want to inform people on this before they make the same mistake I did. With the spoiler it came with cheap double sided tape already on the spoiler, as well as sikaflex which I personally opted out of using due to its almost impossible lack of ability to be removed. When I installed the spoiler I replaced garbage tape with high dollar, top of the line 3M heavy duty D.S.T. courtesy of my job (a autobody shop) I thoroughly cleaned the spoiler as well as the trunk lid before installation to ensure the tape would stick. I installed the spoiler and all fit great for approx. a week. After the temperatures began to heat up the edges started to lift, which is a common problem I found after research due to the flex that the item endures during heating and cooling of the material used for its construction. I removed spoiler, used sikaflex on the edges only, replaced all tape and thoroughly cleaned both the spoiler, and trunk lid again. Installed and encountered the same problem. After spending approx. 4 hours carefully removing the leftover sikaflex from the trunk lid I decided to toss the $80 poorly crafted, horrible fitment spoiler in the trash and wait till I have the proper amount of money to order a reputable brand of spoiler, or remain spoiler-free if after thorough research no such item exists. I would stay away from the item if your car has to endure the outdoor elements. I contacted the supplier/ manufacturer and was told that they could not refund my money, nor could they give me an explanation as to why the item had horrible fitment to begin with. Moral of my long story. "You get what you pay for!"

Wow sounds horrible. I had one corner lift after about two weeks which was probably my fault but after the second application it was fine. Mine didn't come with tape applied but it came with 3m tape.

Mine came without any tape applied, and a roll of red 3m tape. No issues at all thus fat, my corners sit nice and flat and haven't lifted under the GA sun yet.
I don't mean to insult your intelligence, but are you sure you bought it from the same eBay user the rest of us did? |
