The 17" Wheel Thread

This space reserved for discussion on 17" wheels that fit the 135i.

1. 142's

Do BMW's typically have a different hub bore front to rear?

Are the 142s staggered like the standard wheels? Width? Thanks.

No. Every BMW, with the exception of the E39, in recent history has had the same hub bore. That goes for all four corners.

And the 142's are 7x17 ET47 front and 7.5x17 ET47 rear.

This seems to be the best winter wheel/tire size, I assume?
Or can you get a same size wheel and tire on all four corners and the car still looks good.

Great, thank you very much. I figured this thread would come in handy for winter and track-day setups.

worthy thread.

amazing to me that people spend big bucks on shorter final drives and light deep-dish wheels when 17" wheels (and tires) are cheaper, lighter with the same net effect.

as long as they clear the brakes, that is!

Im looking to use 17's as track wheels, lightweight and nice effect on the drive ratio
