Fuel injector cleaning additive

Do people use this and if so which particular brand is best for a 2010 N55 135i?

Same question. I used to run a bottle of Lubrimoly Jectron on my VWs right before an oil change.

Testing has shown little effect

I've never seen tests by manufacturers, magazines, etc but there are several done by individuals on the net showing that gas additives like this have little effect. There was a recent study released by AAA that shows that using top tier gas reduces build-up by 90% compared to non-top tier. So the real answer is stop using a can of additive and instead stop using grocery store and discount store gas and only use top tier.

I used to throw a can into the tank every oil change and often resulted in a code shortly thereafter, I had no such problem with Techron additives. According to one test I saw on the net, you get better results putting some generic toluene in the gas.

From what I've read, you want something with PEA (polyether amine) in it. Chevron Techron is something like 30%+. There are other additives with PEA also.

Top Tier gasolines should be used, but, not all have PEA. It's hard to find out what additive packages gaso marketers use - kind of considered a trade secret. Chevron is obviously using one with PEA. Also, for the OP the Top Tier designation may not be available in Australia.

There is one school of thought that continued use of lower amounts of PEA is better than an occasional large dose.

I always use top-tier 93 octane gas.
Every few thousand miles I throw in a can of Techron.
I can tell the difference when I first put in in.
Bone stock 135i.
