My first was a 1985 911 cab and I just picked up a 1994 kawasaki ninja zx6r that I am cleaning the carbs on as we speak

four and half years before I bought my 135i I bought a new 2005 VW GLI. I had it for less than a year as I moved to NYC and had to get rid of it, but it was the first truely fun car that I owned. I often drove many fun cars that I didn't own, including an insane Ruf Porsche 930 turbo and a 914-6 race car, but the only cars I owned were:

1.) 1991 Toyota Camry LE sedan - First car that I bought my junior year of high school

2.) 1992 Honda Accord LX sedan - Bought it from my dad in college. My dad bought it new and kept it in PERFECT condition. It had about 120k miles when I took it from him and when I sold it 2 years after college it had over 280k miles and was still in excellent condition. What an amazing car

3.) 2005 VW Jetta GLI - This car was so impressive to me. It was worlds away from having BMW level of suspension sophistication, but it was fun as all get-up and I smiled every time I drove the little turbo Jetta. The BBS wheels were awesome, but horrible to clean, and the seats and steering wheel were as perfect as can be. When the boost kicked in this thing just made me smile. I was definitely conscious of the ricer/vw-mod club look going on, but I didin't care because this thing was just fun (and 100% factory). My friends all loved going for rides.

I should also note that the ride isn't exactly plush in the GTI either...
Thanks for the info,...Ive heard all the same things about the GTI's
The rides GOT to be better than her Cooper S. I even swapped out the Run flats, and its still brutal.

My only advice would be to get a new one or at least a 2008.5 and up. Before that they had the same HPFP problems as our N54.

Wife couldn't drive stick so I traded in the Celica for this. Boring car, but was extremely reliable.

My wife and I shared this car before I picked up the 1er. This is now "her" car, aka the family car.

Not yet a "previous ride" as I'm still driving it until my '11 135i comes in... '07 SLK

With my brother's M Coupe.

And the reason why I don't want another roadster! (Back to stock wheels for lease end)
