Winter Wheels - Offset Question

Looking to pick up a 2nd set of 17" (preferably cheap) wheels to put snow tires on for winter conditions. Going on my 09 135i M Sport.

A set is available on CL locally from an 09 325i OEM. 17x8 5x120 34mm Offset. Little concerned that the offset is too low, is that a deal breaker? What is the lowest offset I could consider for a winter setup to get brake clearance and proper fitment with the 135?

Help is appreciated!

There is quite the difference in offsets between the two. I put my OE 1er winter wheels on my 330, and had to use 25mm spacers to get them to fit. That's a lot of spacer.

The E46 has the same offset as our cars and there should be a lot of them available.

The offsets would be a little aggressive for a winter setup. You might be able to get away with those with a 215 tire.

17X8 ET34 is more aggressive than I would run for winter. There are quite a few options for more appropriately sized winter wheels on the market so you should not have to compromise.
