How much do you pay for insurance (per year)?
I just rang my insurance company today to find out how much they were going to sting me for upgrading from my VW Golf to the 330d: $583 >>> $1,050 And I am a 'perfect' driver: 42 yrs old, never had a single claim in 25 yrs of driving!
So, how much do you pay? Please someone say you pay more than me

Assuming this is every 6 months.... I pay 609 every 6 months. I am 24 and no accident or ticket in more than 3 years (which is all they care about here in PA)

my cars are each insured through two different companies because it was still cheaper than having it combined through one.

I have HUGE discounts on the e90 because my parents have 4 cars and their house with my state farm agent, and good student discount (which still applies after you graduate college). I pay only 650 every 6 mo, which is just about how much I pay for my motorcycle! My 2003 vw jetta gli was running me about 800 every 6mo, so I'm thrilled.
By the way, does anybody know if you get another discount if you have BMW assist? I mean, if you car is stolen, they can track it down for you so the insurance co. must like that?

My insurance on the 996 was murder the second I got married it more than halfed. They figured out my life was over and threw me a brake on insurance. I used to pay $918 every 6 mo and we went to $600 on all three cars E90, A4, Altima and were both in our twenties, with full coverage and $500 deductable. We also switched to progressive from Safeco. That may have been the difference

I think this thread has been around for a while. Insurance rates depend on a variety of factors including place, age, sex, coverage, deductibles. It is meaningless to compare rates when any of these factors differ.

I would assume most people (like myself) insured the heck out of their e90....
We paid enough for a high end car, my theroy was I should insure it as such. So I got close to top of the line if not top of the line on everything along with full tort |

Its hard to guess what is an expected insurance rate with this type of thread. Everything from location, age, driving record (and sometimes credit rating) can affect the ultimate insurance premium you pay.
I pay $540/6 months for my E90 (full coverage). This was after having a totally clean driving record, age 31, married, multi-car discount (3 cars), several professional membership discounts, registered in Orange County, NY. When I lived in Brooklyn, NY it cost $900/6 months for a 1997 Acura Integra (liability only). I now pay $175/6 months for that same car. I was initially planning on buying an E46 M3 and was quoted just over $3000/6 months. I decided to move first (and then got an E90 instead).
