Reseting the Low Presure Warnig Light
I just put new wheels and tires without the TPMS and the Low Tire Pressure Warning Light came on. I tried resetting it but it just says Inactive and the warning light stays on.
Can the light be turned off? Thank You |

I do not believe you can turn off that sensor warning. We can thank congress for that one!
That was why I went with a 2nd set of TPMS in my winter tires. I have my OE summers on right now. |

Yeah have to have TPMS senders on your new wheels or the light will stay on.

Any TPSM sensor that broadcasts on 433Mhz will work.
Tire rack sells a kit for $220ish? I know BMW in Germany wanted 55 euros each!(sensor and valve - see bellow!) You will need four sensors AND four valve stems. I had a friend with an Audi who went with aftermarket sensors... two years later his batteries in two of the sensors went bad. What a bitch to replaced! You gotta dis mount the tire from the wheel. $80 bucks or so plus reballancing. Thats why I went with new BMW units for my winter setup. |

I got my TPMS from wheeladdicts for $200. Ask for Jorge. I also got my CS7 wheels from him as well.
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=347214 I saw them here for a few bucks less here but have not used this source yet: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...highlight=BERU The BERU TPMS sensors are factory OEM for BMW. I would trust these most versus other sensors. Installation instructions can be obtained at www.beru.com. You probably should have asked this question prior so you can save some bucks to remove the tires and install the sensors. The sensors are a real easy to DIY install. I installed mine by myself. I highly recommend getting a small torque wrench to properly install. You will need to torque the stem and sensor separately to 4 N-M each (about 32 in-lbs.). I don’t know if the tire shop will charge you extra or not to do it. Good luck. |
