I can't wait to take it out to a Red Meat and Race Fuel @ MSRH once it is here. Maybe I'll get it before July 11th that way I can have some fun on the track before I say goodbye for two more weeks while I'm out of town.

Group picture day would be awesome. Too bad Houston is so flat. Any ideas? Maybe off of Allen Parkway with downtown in the background? I guess we're still a ways out.

I'm hoping to be able to start tracking again tomorrow. It's been off the radar long enough.

I went here:

http://www.2wglobal.com/www/wep//

Andy typed in my VIN under cargo ID. It took a few days though (almost 2 weeks actually) after I dropped it off from the Euro Delivery

Ask your CA, I found out from mine which ship it was on. I was on K-line which you can't track by VIN, but their are other ways (plenty of info on this forum) on how to track via maritime sites.

When I grew up in houston and went to Lamar there was a street in River Oaks (Turwilliger I think -its beenalmost 50 years) that had a slight incline. It passed for a hill in Houston and we used to "test" our cars there. I had a twin cam MG. Go to the River Oaks Country Club, drink and "race our cars around those poor peoples' street. Boy times and alcohol awareness have changed. I thought was going up a hill until I went to Southwestern near Austin.

Also the Rice Stadium parking lot had no lights and we used to go there and abuse our parent's cars. My mom had a 1960 Impala SS and My brother and my late husband & I used to got there accelerate and turn loose of the wheel. Mom couldn't figure why the tires went so quick.

Good news! The Bess is sitting pretty at the port of Halifax. Stealthy little watercraft snuck back within radar at some point last night I guess... Anyone else have a car on there?

Holly, that's weird I wrote a reply and all it did was quote your post... just realized it.

Anyways I know the area you are talking about, although I guess a lot has changed since then, including the drinking age! My favorite street in the area is Troon which is another one of those streets that you feel like you're not in Houston until you get back up to Kirby. I went to Lamar too, class of 1999, good times! I didn't drink in high school though, saved it all for when I got to UT. I can imagine how awesome those times you speak of were, and those cars!

For those who didn't do ED, how long did it take from "Production Finished" to "En Route?"

How long from "En Route" to "At Preparation Center?"

How long from "At Preparation Center" to "Arrived at Your BMW Center?"

Thanks!

OK my car is in the states! It was "discharged" from the vessel on Monday. Since I did ED the BMWUSA site doesn't show tracking anymore, is this as far as the tracking obsession goes or can I still track it somewhere? Dealer says approx. 10 days from the day it is unloaded, that puts it here in about a week hopefully!

Mine docked yesterday but they said that it may take a while to clear customs and then they would need to check availability for pcd.

As for tracking, to my knowledge you won't have any further info until after it clears customs. Your car docked in GA right?

I hope they are faster on yours than mine. It took 10 days from docking in Brunswick for my car to go thru customs and then be released by the VPC.

Call the BMW ED 800-932-0831 to get current status.

Just confirmed that mine is on the Antares Leader bound for Oxnard. I should have it in a month. Time to switch to the all-ramen diet for a while.

What about pictures in that park near Downtown where the moved all those 1800s houses if it is still there. Or is herman park still nice?

We had some expensive cars at Lamar. My brother went to St. Johns and one of his friends had an Aston Martin.

Have fun and post those pictures.

Haha Ramen Diet, I feel you! This is a big investment...

Holly that's a great place to take some pics! I'll do it once I have it. Might be better in the fall when the leaves start falling so you can see of the buildings in downtown from there as well. We'll see. I'll post 'em soon enough.
