SmallDave 128i Introduction
After contemplating futures cars for a few months and look at some 128i specifically, I couldn't be happier to pick my car up from a fellow forum member (TheBigChill). I can't say more about the care and attention he gave to this car, he has set a good standard for me to follow.
2009 128i Sport Package with 75k miles The current modifications: -Bilstein B8 Sport Plus Struts / Shocks (paired with stock M-Sport springs) -ECS Brake Kit w/ Slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads all around -DR37 Wheels in Hyperblack, 17x8 ET42, square fitment -AFE N52 Air Intake -BMW Performance Black Kidney Grills -Interior Light LED Conversion (cool white) -Retrofitted OEM alarm upgrade -Painted replica spoiler The car is in such great shape, hopefully I'll be able to spend my time continuing to replace/upgrade parts as needed. For the next few months, I'm hoping to: -DISA manifold conversion - AA Headers - BPC Tune After this, I hope to do a short shifter, CDV delete, and slowly upgrade suspension components. Here are a couple pictures when I got the car home. |

I live in Falmouth, but am frequently driving throughout the surrounding areas. I wasn't in that area last night though. Are you located in Westbrook? I tried to send a picture of my 1er but it didn't seem to go through. It's a black 128, sport pack.

Oh very cool, do you go to the BMW CCA meetings? There's one tomorrow at the Muddy Rudder in Yarmouth.

I'm not a CCA member, though I'm planning to join the Boston chapter for autox at Ft. Devens in Massachusetts this summer. If you're looking to autox in Maine, check out the Cumberland Motor Club if you haven't already!

Hey guys, not much of an update unfortunately but I was able to get some m235i wheels and MPSS tires for a good price.
Added an X3 35i to the garage as well (even though we don't currently have a garage). |

Welcome back; I have a friend living near Bradford.
I highly recommend joining BMWCCA. Not too many 128's with xenon. Looks like no BMW performance exhaust; unfortunately NLA No mention of RSFB's; Whiteline inserts should work well. I have very similar to you; never selling unless I import a E87. |

Why are there so few 128i's with xenon?
Was it for the parent company to cut costs? Quote:

Xenons
-yes to keeping MSRP low; my 08 was $25,500 (tho military sales) -xenons were an option most passed on; my PO did -some people wanted simplicity and much lower cost bulbs Last edited by NorthernDancer; 04-07-2020 at 11:46 PM.. Reason: spelling |

These are actually aftermarket xenons, I would need to look through my paper work for the brand name.
Also, I guess I should mention I managed to tackle the water pump and thermostat last year and the cdv delete. Every is working well so I'm happy about that! It does appear my oil pan gasket is leaking so that may be next. Maybe headers at the same time? 🤔 |

A couple of sets of Osram Rallye H7 bulbs and it's all good. Not a single headlight error, too

Got my 1m/m3 control arms done over the past couple day. 4 T40 torx later and some learning along the way. Certainly need an alignment but I'm excited to get it done. Decided I'll be keeping the car long term so planning out some more modifications
We split a couple of the nuts off before finding our pneumatic cutting wheel. Thanks to my dad for helping me get the rusty nuts cut off. |
