335is software on 135i>>>?

By now most of us have seen the new 335is that will be released mid '10. The car looks nice and the fact that when you stomp on the gas pedal the computer gives you 369 lbs of tq for 7 seconds makes it even nicer. So you no what i thought right away....

Is there anyway possible that since bmw sometimes reflashes cars with new tunes for cars with fuel pump issues like my car had a couple months ago, that one would be able to re-flash a 135i with the 335is software being that it is has the same engine. it just seems like BMW just tuned it a little faster so if one knew a technician*** at bmw would it be possible to do>>>>????

.........any BMW techinicians that want to chime in please do..

Doubtful. Software would be Vin specific.

Assume each software 'packet' is created for that specific car from BMWs library of software patches.

Example. Tech types in the cars Vin to the BMW computer.

Vin Reveals car has heated memory seats, DCT transmission, N54, Business CD radio, Sirius Sat radio, etc.

Then the BMW computer goes out to its software library and assembles the new software 'packet'. It pulls the latest drivers for the seats, for the radio, for the cruise control, for the transmission for the engine and assembles all these new drivers together into the 'packet'.

Once the 'packet' is created, then it is uploaded into the car.

So your theory of using the 335is software to give the 135 a HP boost will likely not work. In theory it sounds great.

Sure you can... it's called the "Performance Power Kit." You get the same software tune as a 335is (except for the "overboost") and the same cooling enhancements.

the 335is sticks with the N54 twin turbo engine.

One way to do this. Buy a 335is, buy a 135i, now it's engine swap time.
