Software upgrade
Has anyone from Canada with the old software get it upgraded to the newer software yet? I tried to do this the last time I went to my dealership and they had no idea what I was talking about. I have the premium audio and the buzzing from the speakers is annoying me....I've read that the software upgrade can help get rid of this. Curious to see if you guys/gals have any more info about this.
Thanks

When I brought my car in for a problem two months back they upgraded the firmware as it changed the shift smoothness of the auto and it increased the exhaust note.

I'm waiting for a software upgrade to address an issue with the Premium Hi-Fi system too - intermittently it won't work.
BMW knows about this particular issue and BMW Toronto says that an update should be released by the end of September.

I thinking if it is possible for the Hi-Fi to show Asian languages like Japanese, Chinese...instead of uncoded weird symbol and English

You can change the language on standard stereo (Professional) to Japanese. That way the display on HiFi will show most of Chinese characters if your song titles are saved in the correct format.

Do you remember what version of the firmware they upgraded it to? Just so I have something to ask them for when I take the car in next time.

Sorry, no I don't know the version of the firmware. I only noticed it was upgraded after driving the vehicle for a bit.

Just curious what kind of radio problem you ran into? Does it happen on all base audio system (i.e professional)? I wanna have the update done... last time mine wasn't updated when HPFP was replaced... dealer claimed their server was down...

The radio would still work when on, but no command would be accepted, i.e. no buttons were working: couldnt turn it off, change channels or use bluetooth.
heres the summary: "Software issue ...Last version is 2.32. As per puma mesure ******** Need programm car with version 2.35 and up... I have the premium sound pack so its the professional radio hope that helps |
