AUX jack buzzing. HELP!!
Coming from a jaguar XF supercharged which had $5000 Bowers & Wilkins(one of the greatest) sound systems, I'm use to having higher sound standards and not here any buzzing when i used my ipod.
But after i got my 2011 135i started hearing buzzing, and can simply not stand it. I have tried to turn my pods volume which only stopped the distortion, but the buzzing is still there, i even turned the aux volume down in the menu and nothing. I downloaded songs onto the car and every thing was fine, but it is very inconvenient scrolling through songs. I would much rather be able to use my ipod. Please HELP! |

My first guess is a loose ground on the Aux jack or even a worn/dirty jack. What happens if you pull the plug out slightly or wiggle it around? I'm guessing you tried another cable from the iPod to Aux jack.

One other thing: you running the iPod from the internal battery or running it off car juice? You could have a ground loop causing the hum if you're running it off the cars power and/or USB power.

Sounds like a grounding issue where the jack isn't making a full connection. Take it to the dealer if you can, otherwise use some compressed air and blow out the aux jack.
If that doesn't fix it, try a different device and see if you have better luck. |

Are you using 3.5mm to 3.5mm or 3.5 to LOD the former is rubbish compared with the latter and try a good spray of switch cleaner followed buy a light smear of Vasaline.

My SUV aux jack does this because the aftermarket wire is not shielded. The SUV radio had an aux function but the car had no jack. I bought a plug and play solution but they used bad wire. It doesn't always bug me but sometimes it does. I would really bug me if my bimmer did it, however.
Long way to say I would be worried about your wire.

Hopefully that explains what I am experiencing, do you actually think a can of dust remover for like keyboards will solve this problem? Also I know nothing about electrical and audio related stuff so I'm sorry if I sound ignorant.
