Tracker on 1M

Guys,

Out of interest are any of you in the UK having trackers fitted to your car?
Obviously for some there will be no option because Insurance companies will require it but i just wanted to know which are reputable.

From BMW i've been quoted £410 fitted with annual sub. of £147.50.

Not having fitted one before i don't know whether this is good or bad.

I'm not bothering, IMHO the sort of people who can steal & pass on a 1M are the sort of people who can defeat a Tracker.

How big is the insurance discount that you have been offered - does it really offset the £150/yr subscription? For me, the discount would have to be 30-40% of the premium before it started to make sense.

Your right 1M, i was just considering for piece of mind but your right. The more smarter will overcome trackers. Have you taken out GAP insurance?

Nope!

Might just have to go for the Track-Day insurance though - especially if my kids are driving as well

I would consider a tracker if the cost difference was worth it, but i suspect the discount won't be enough to persuade me to get one.

Besides, TBH I wouldn't want the car back after some git had trashed the thing.

Ive gone for a tracker fitted by bmw. Its a navtrak supposedly they have charged £400 which is a bit steep as my mums porsche has the same and they charged £300 at porsche?! But for me as im 21 it saved me about £250 a year and the peace of mind really...

I've had one on the STI since 2003 and once i grabbed my spare key by accident instead of the "paired" key and i went to get a stereo installed......two hours later i realize this and call BOOMERANG ,the service provider, and ask them nicely if they might have noticed my car had moved without the paired key with it ... hahaha!! They went on to say they noticed but assumed i just went for a stroll with the wrong keys ......Morons
