Service engine soon warning

Hey guys,

I have ar design catted downpipes on my car and they keep throwing a code. They were fine over the summer and fall but once it got colder the service engine light started coming on. Will a DP fix correct this issue as well as help me pass emissions in Illinois?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Did you pull the codes?

Wait, they were fine when it was hot and not when its cold out? Check your connections and make sure the DPs are tightly attached. Sounds like a bad seal. Codes will tell though.

Check your nuts and make sure they're up to snuff!

I brought it to a local shop a few months back and they cleared the code and they said it was just reading no catalytic converter or something. I can't really test anything right now. My car is at IND with suspension issues and I won't have it back for a few more weeks.
