Who still loves their 2008 135i

Going on 4 years - still love mine ! Fast, nimble, and still solid. American cars don't hold up nearly this well.

Mine goes in Friday for the 45k service as well. Hopefully getting brake rotors, and new clutch, and oil change and for them to fix to squeaks, rattles in the car. Gonna demand they give me a nice loaner car, as i've had a 335 and a 335d before, hoping they'll give me one of those.

I do. Hitting 55K soon, I extended my warranty to 100K. No big problems other than adaptive headlight failure (one of the motors broke and now it's a nightmare trying to prove my angel eyes didn't do it, which they didn't). Also, it feels a little slower and I think it's almost due for an engine cleaning. Seafoaming it every oil change for the past few thousand miles didn't do much. Also, the paint's ugly as shit now, especially on the front bumper, even with yearly professional detailing and being as meticulous as possible. Oh well. Still fun. Faster than most cars out there, and as the car ages I'm less anal about doing fun stuff like burnouts.

For sure, I enjoy mine everyday. What all goes with an engine cleaning? I've heard of people doing seafoam but not much on its effects. Heard the intakes need cleaned but not much on how its done.

yeah the intakes are the problem. Thats where DI cars carbon up because there is only air in the intake manifold. Ive heard of mixed results through a seafoam spray through a meth bung in the charge pipe but never in a BMW, only in Audis.

Unfortunately the only sure fire way to clean out the intake manifold is to take it off the car and drop it in a tub of seafoam for 3 days...then the carbon scrapes off with a plastic knife.

I enjoy my year one of the one a lot. I am at 56k miles now so I may need to do the intake valve cleanup even though I don't feel a performance drop.

What about the actual intakes on the head? Do they need any cleaning? It doesn't look too difficult to remove the intake manifold, I may have to do that soon, as for the last 3k miles or so i've had the BMS OCC, but i'm sure the 42k miles without one is enough for alot of carbon buildup.

I highly reccommend Mopar combustion chamber cleaner. I have been used it for years. Quite noticable increased performance and about 40-80 miles to the tank increase, depending on how dirty the engine. I have used it in all my used cars. If the engine has a lot of build up, then a lot of black smoke will come out of the exhaust while you are spraying it in. I have yet to use it on the 1, but it may be something someone may want to try. I'm not sure exactly where to get it. My cousin has been a Chysler mechanic for over 20 years. I get through him.

I love my 135 more since I just completed all the mods. My M3 rear subframe bushings were just installed and the ride is fantastic. I'll write a small review and post pics tonight.

I dont really know specifics other than the intake manifold and the top of the intake valves.

This would be great if we didn't have direct injection, but fuel and oil additives won't help at all with DI intake issues.
