Gents - I've been asked by Roland to confirm if anyone is interested in an additional Motorkhana on 1 August.
I know that there are a few people that missed out. Get back to me here as soon as possible. Otherwise, PM me for Roland's email address and get on to him

Very sad news.
Hello Motorkhana Enthusiasts, For those of you that have enjoyed my motorkhana days run at the Mt Cotton LVMA, I thank you for your attendance and making the days enjoyable and successful. Most of you will have observed an increased frequency in events, which was possible through keen support of what I believe to have a been a successful format run at a good venue. After three years since the start of these events, it is with regret that I inform Mt Cotton management have taken the decision to disallow the use of the Large Vehicle Maneouvring Area (LVMA) for the purposes of the Motorkhanas or any such freestyle activities. While the LVMA will still be available to driving schools for strict driver training, my open style of motorkhanas will not be possible and the facility shall be deemed as closed for that function. Mt Cotton's position was taken due to complaints of neighbouring residents against noise. It should be observed that the facility was there first, zoned for noise and noise testing is regularly undertaken and limits enforced. Through my events we have adhered to the rules and not only I, but the event facilitator and other clubs in the same boat are dumbfounded by the decision. Mt Cotton have moved that the dry, Vehicle Maneouvring Area (VMA) be used as a replacement, however at practically the same cost, and half the size, I assert this arrangement as unacceptable... as will the other clubs. With the police, fire department and ambulance no longer using this facility, I can only hope the reduced business may sway a change in decision, but at this stage the decision stands. On a positive note, my bookings for the 25th July, August 1st and August 14th are unaffected. I have litterally only a few places left in my August 1st date (PM session) and with this email offer anyone the chance for what could be a final run at Mt Cotton. My booking for the 14th was originally intended for a special event for a small dedicated group, but in view of the situation will decide over the weekend what to offer on that date... stay tuned. Please get back to me as soon as possible with regards to a place if you have not already or were thinking to attend later in the year as there will be no more events at Mt Cotton following the above. I look forward to hearing from you. Roland

It's happened many times. Previously, Lakeside raceway was closed down for the same reasons.
It used to be in bushland far from anywhere, but sure enough more houses were built closer and closer to the facility. Then the complaints start, and the fact the track was there first for many years is ignored. I can understand this somewhat though, a full racetrack and it's facilities is pretty hard to miss... |

What would people suggest recommended tyre pressure be set at (cold)? I have mine set to 36 on all corners at present.

Another question, would it be best for me to stick with my current tyres (low on tread) and just waste them, or put new ones on? Rather use the low ones, but if I'm not going to get any traction in the wet it may be pointless...

Depends on how much you like spinning, or if you keep DCT on, no power to your wheels

Just leave the old tires on the car. You will hardly notice any additional wear on a day like this and the new tires won't do too much for you. Better to leave them for some real driving
