OT ........ X5 LCI arrived

Hi Crew

Just got my new X5 LCI, for its size it really kicks ass. Has loads of cool features and the HUD is kinda strange at first.

its quite a bit bigger than I sort of expected, but then i have been driving the 1er for the last few weeks waiting on delivery.

Got a great 20% Madico Onyx Tint Job finished today for $325, thoroughly recommend the guys at Solartint Hornsby

Will post a few pics on the weekend.

Welcome to the X5 LCI club! We've just ticked over 2000km in the xdrive40d and I'm loving the grunt of the diesel!

The HUD is cool - wish I had one on the M3.

Which model did you get?

Congrats on the pickup! The current X5/X6 platform is the best out there. The HUD I think is one of the greatest features! Feels so space age when you have the navigation displaying on the windscreen.

It would be nice if the HUD nav display was in Perspective as opposed to Arrow display.

I've also noticed if you zoom the nav out to 2km it switches to a Google Earth-type image - which is cool but useless as road graphics are superimposed and it's too far out to be of any use. Great if you think you're flying overhead in a SuperHornet.

I dunno having the perspective view show up on the windscreen would be quite distracting. The arrow view is sufficient, and a quick glance at the actual iDrive screen is enough to get a general idea.

Didn't know about the zooming out though, that's awesome Gotta try it next time I get my hands on my dad's car.
