#$%& - Stoned again!
I had a go at detailing the 1er today and wow are there a lot of stone chips!
I also have some that were addressed by the prior owner but not done rite - I have some pictures of them too. The paint seems to be darker blue. What to do, what to do? I'm going to look into one of those touch-up systems and there are plenty of posts on that for me to research but my real question is... What can I do, as a 'home detailer' to fix the repairs that were done improperly, or at least mitigate their visual impact? The car is Montego Blue; I use NuFinish on all our cars, about once a month. Thoughts? Thank you!

Must be something with Montego Blue.....mine looks just as bad! I swear, I'm on the verge of getting the front bumber and hood repainted.

With those chips Dr color chips is your best bet in minimizing the appearance but really the only fix for those are to repaint. Also stop using NuFinish. If you need to polish and want something you can pick up at Autozone or such I would use Meguairs ultimate compound or their ultimate polish and make sure to follow it up with a wax or sealant same goes with the NuFinish.

All bmw paint chips and flakes like shit it seems its the one thing they don't invest well in is a good clear coat, my 2010 jet black hood and bumper are doing the same thing I'd give the car a good detail then Assess the state of the hood, personally I'd stay away from touch up paint it never looks good IMHO, I'd say clay bar the car then compound it, then wax with a good paste wax on her then,Finish it off with a real good paint sealer personally I only use chemical guy products on my car, there "Jet Seal 109" paint sealant is insanely good! And it last a year! It was made for NASA and airplane paints to be sealed with easy to use as well check them out!
