e82/ 135i Recaro Sportster CS Seat Installation Advice Required
Hi Guys.
I have purchased a set of Recaro Sportster CS (side airbags, no heating) seats to go in my 08 E82 135i which currently has manual seats. In terms of the physical installation I'm fine but I'm a bit lost when it comes to the wiring. Does anyone have a guide or wiring diagrams for this? I assume that coding will also be required due to the lack of seat occupancy sensor? Cheers, John. |

It doesn't have it's own harness. It just has three wires.
I thought that the bmw performance harness was only for use with electric seat adjustment & memory Performance seats? |

Keep us updated! I'm hoping to do the same thing for my E82 in the future.
And for what it's worth, I find that I get better help over the phone these days than by email. It seems that most times the email gets overlooked (ignored) or I end up with some kind of half-arsed answer... Good luck! It's just 3 wires, what's the worse that can happen? |

LUCKILY, Turner Motorsports came to the rescue and sold the mats individually so you can put the mat under the Recaro cushion, hook it up to the stock harness and boom, no fault lights. I never actually got around to doing this so what I'm saying could be wrong but its the knowledge I've got. Alternatively, find some crappy cushions out of a totaled e90 and tear them open for the mats. Please share what you find. |

Its great to hear you confirm this. I delved so deep into this I heard that the airbag light cannot be coded out for DOT safety reasons. Do you know what software the airbags were coded out with?
Also, are you running a harness or the stock seat belts? Ive heard there is an issue with coding the unbuckled belt light too.. In fact that may be the light im thinking of that (supposedly) can't be coded out. Fee free to dump information here, theres very little info about seat changes for the e90/e82 cars available in the forums |
