Soo... whats the story in detail? They called you, "hey, install went great but, uh, we wrecked your car test driving it. Please come pick it up, the installs' free, please don't post the name of our shop on the internet?"

i'd make them buy the car from you for what it was worth before the accident... then go pick up another one.

It's obvious you got to do some testing after installing parts, otherwis you would not be a good mechanic. Mistakes happen...
I think he should repair it in his shop and take the mods to a new level. Would make for a nice PR stunt. |

If he actually lost control and wrecked, you absolutely know he was mashing on the car like no other. This IS UNACCEPTABLE. Hire a lawyer if need be and get a new car.

As others have said here. First and foremost you need to consult with legal counsel who is an expert in this area. You need to know your rights as it pertains to the law in your state.
I assume by your lack of recent comments on this thread that you are indeed taking this step? More than likely legal counsel will advise you to remain tight lipped on the matter as they develop their case. It is clear that this shop did not exercise reasonable care and prudence with your property. Further, as it is your car and your insurance company, I would even recommend contacting the police for a formal report in the matter to protect yourself. |

Sorry to see what happened to your car, man. I hope it all works out in the end for you. This reminds me of the son-in-law of a good friend who took his Z06 to a detailing shop and left it for the day. The detailer decided to take a little "test drive" after he finished cleaning and waxing the car. He totaled the 'Vette, but he wasn't used to driving anything with anywhere near that much power. Then the insurance didn't want to pay what it was worth, but finally gave in and paid up. Hope they do the same for you!

Damn!!! They aren't going to total it; they didn't total my ONE- someone hit me 4 days into having my One... did receive a nice diminished value check and they did a great job on the repairs... I know it sounds bad- but thank god mine one is just a lease.
