Im too lazy to read through all these pages. So my question is will the stage1 flash work with catless DPs? I am intersted in switching from the V5 which i am having severe problems with, to Cobb but i want the car to run smooth. Should I just wait until stage2 and when will that be availible?

Yes, I've gotten a ton of my mods for my MS3 off SU, they're very reputable and their customer service is excellent.

Yea, their newer price is not so friendly anymore. You can find a few vendors in for under $800...

Ok, this may be a question for the cobb guys but I figured I would ask here first. If the accessport reads/clears codes, I assume catless DPs are no issue when it comes to O2 sensors...?

I have upgraded downpipes with high flow cats or not cats at all and I am getting a Check Engine Light for rear O2 sensor codes. Will the AccessPORT be able to turn these codes off? The ECU uses the rear O2 sensors in daily operation, and these need to remain in the exhaust system for proper engine function. The AccessPORT has the ability to keep the cat inefficiency codes from being thrown on the N54 while maintining proper operation of the O2 sensors when there are no cats or aftermarket cats. Stage2 calibrations will have these codes turned off when they become available. |

Turns out the low-rpm-under-load vibration/shuddering I had was definitely the HPFP in early failure stages and had nothing to do with the AP map. It went kaput on me and the sypmtoms were very similar (just more alarming).
The throttle sensor spiking in high 70's/maxxing to 81 under light throttle though I'll have to continue investigating. They're mid-way through my HPFP replacement now and no flags have gone up, so chalk another one up for uninstall = undetected (at least at this level of investigation). |

i'm still curious about cobb's boost control methods. i don't think it's direct wastegate control, but rather torque targeting. before they release stage II, i'm curious if they're going to work out any of the over-shooting boost issues.

The ECUs are torque and load targeting. From the load target a target boost is selected which then targets a certain WGDC. It's a smidgen more complex than what I described, ok, a lot more complex. AFAIK there is not a boost overshooting issue. Did I miss something? Cheers, Rob |
