Hello! New/First time BMW owner here!
Just thought I'd say hello and I'm really looking forward to my time spent here when I should be working, or doing my "honey do" list! Just picked up my 135i Convertible last night and I gotta say that I am really impressed! I ended up going convertible because I actually thought it looked great as a soft top (I usually hate convertibles), performance doesn't seem to be effected to badly and it feels really roomy with the top down. My last two cars before the 1 was a Lexus ISF and Audi B8 S4 Stasis tuned. I was one of those guys that vowed NEVER to buy a BMW, and often scoffed at the "ultimate driving machine" slogan...my friends who own BMWs told me "don't knock it til you try it"...I did and am happy and humbled to report that the 135i is one of the most purist modern cars I've ever driven and the "ultimate driving machine" slogan is no false advertisement! Haha. Now the legendary " reliability" issues are still to be seen, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is just urban legend spread by...ahem...the Audi/MB guys. Now someone please direct me to a place in Phoenix/Scottsdale where I can get JB4.

Welcome! My 128i cabrio is also my first BMW, ordered and purchased in 2009. One thing I bought fairly early is a windscreen. They are expensive, around $300, but they make a really big difference in the amount of wind you get in the front seats. People with short hair may only notice reduced noise but people with long hair will really appreciate the reduction. I have had females make comments after assuming they would have to put their hair up or use a ballcap. With the windscreen even on the highway it is fine (but you may decide to also put the windows up on the highway).
I know nothing about JB4s but you might want to review the threads in the technical area for the 135i to see the comments about the various sources of this sort of "tuning". Jim

Congrats on your new car..
You can buy JB4 online at anytime.. Before you buy it you should check the video on how to install it, for majority of people it is straight forward even it involve removing plastic covers around the engine area and accessing the ECU compartment.

In Arizona maybe. But I put my top down literally every month of the year here - but not every trip. We've entered the time of year when top down is early in the day or after sundown. It is really nice to go out to dinner in the summer - with the top up and the AC on - and come out and put the top down for the drive home.
Winter is pretty much the opposite. Middle of the day if the sun is shining. Spring and Fall it's anytime. Jim

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you're so pleased with your 135i while coming from an S4 and an IS-F. Check out our wheels once the Mod-Bug hits. We have wheels for your S4 as well

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I can honestly say that I am really excited to start making the car "mine"...already got a CF rear decklid spoiler coming. I really had to battle my ego in the beginning, especially after driving the S4, the whole "it's just a 1 series yada yada", but after my first test drive and first full day of ownership...wow! Such a pure car...and that's what I'm calling it...the modern day purist's performance car. Also tried launch control with my 335i owning buddy...HOLY turtle nuts!! Laid down about 30 ft of rubber! Totally caught us both off guard.

Congrats and just remember that the feeling of joy and excitement of ownership on the first day of purchase continues as time goes on. I still love my 135i just as much as when I first took her off the lot. And I never had that feeling for a car prior to owning a 135.
