RR Exhaust attracts cops!

So, I got a speeding ticket the other night. Apparantly, he was just sitting on a freeway onramp, because he didn't get me with radar, but followed me enough for him to estimate my speed. I'm going to fight it, but that's not the point...

The first thing the officer says is "your exhaust isn't doing you any favors. I heard you coming from a ways back, and I just waited until you flew past me."

Oh, and it was 80 in a 65....and I still feel a bit lucky

Any loud exhaust is an invitation to a ticket. It has always been that way and I expect it always will be. Maybe when we hotrod our future electric cars we can play a soundtrack to make us feel better.

Judging by your mod list, I can understand why you drive fast!

I would totally fight it in court. You can probably get it reduced because of no radar reading. Good luck.

Ktdw, thats one hell of a mod list. Not to change the subject but, how is it as a day to day driver. Reliable? I don't know if I want to go down your road or get a Dinan package. Oh, and fight that bullshit ticket, if he didn't get you on radar the very least the judge will do is lower the fine.

The OP has downpipes and exhaust, so basically it's straight pipes. Pretty loud I'm sure. I just have the RR exhaust with stock downpipes and it's not to bad.

lol if you get catless dp and the rr exhaust it can be really loud at times. but i have been pulled over a few times by cops, ive gotten 2 speeding tickets but never anything about the exhaust. i guess its just luck lol. every cop is different. ive had a cop want to give me a ticket for having an "illegal" battery, because he didnt know that bmw puts the battery in the trunk of there cars. LOL

I'm running on stock exhaust and it set off the alarm in the mustang next to me when I started the engine. I can't imagine what the RR will do.

Over 16K miles with DP and tune, and haven't had any problems. During the week, my wife drives it to work; it pretty much only gets pushed on the weekends (when I'm driving).

The exhaust is loud, but not too loud for us. One of these days I have to make a tunnel video

I had a cop pull me over for, "...drivin' all fast and the furious like." No use of any speed detection equipment whatsoever and I was going the speed limit. He didn't give me a ticket because he had nothing and just wanted to screw with me until something more important came along - thank god it did. I hate cops.

Ugh, just got a fix it ticket today for my front plate. The cop said he heard me before he saw me speed around a turn. I blame you Riss Racing .

LOL ya. That's why I try to avoid getting flashy mods. No 6000k HID because you stick out. No loud exhaust unless it necessary to increase performance. Then again if you can afford a 135i you should be able to pay some tickets =)

Catless downpipes with exhaust is a bit loud. However catted + exhaust isn't loud, and the exhaust by itslef isn't loud.

You can't blame us for that stone foot

LOL. It is a bit loud, but I love the sound and performance, so there's no way I'm getting rid of it.

I'm just glad I didn't get written up for speeding or get asked to pop the hood.

+1 When he started talking about the exhaust I just wanted to get out of there! No time for excuses or begging, just give me my ticket and let me go.

Really love the sound and performance of the RR downpipes and exhaust
