Rays Engineering is simply one of the top wheel manufacturers in the world. They have been producing wheels for decades and been suppliers to the highest levels of motorsport, including F1 and GT1 World Championships.

The Volk Racing VR-G2 wheels available here are made in Japan specifically for the BMW 1 series and designed to meet Rays Engineering in-house JWL+R SPEC2 strength testing which is more demanding than JWL spec most wheel manufacturers strive for.

Key information:

• 18"x8" ET45 fronts 18"x9" ET50 rears
• 1 piece forged construction (REAL forged, not spun forged flow forged etc etc bs)
• Formula Silver finish
• Hubcentric 1 series fitment
• Genuine Rays centre caps and valve stem caps included
• Original documentation and wheel covers included
• Front rim weighs 17.8 lbs and rear weigh 18.5 lbs
• Over 28 lbs (!!!) of unsprung weight savings vs oem wheels
• Forged from a single billet of aluminum using a 10,000 ton forging machine

The wheels were used for 2 years on both street and track. I would rate their condition as 7.5 of 10. Of note: one wheel has curb rash approximately 1" in size; one bolt hole has scuffing from a socket; one centre cap has a small dent; some pitting and scratches of the finish on inner barrels. I had the wheels inspected by laser using a Hunter Elite Roadforce balancing machine. According to Chris Kennealy, owner of Burning Rubber Tire & Speed, 2 wheels show small bends on the inner barrel but are minor enough to be easily balanced.

Wheels were washed regularly with lambswool wash mitts and car soap but were not mounted to a garage queen. As such, I think my asking price is fair considering their quality, condition and previous usage. That being said prices are OBO. I'm a reasonable guy, make a reasonable offer and the worst that happens is I say no!
