"Making" a working USB Stick, Need Help

Ok... I have searched a lot on and off this forum and I'm still arriving at failure. I have a 1gig USB 2.0 stick trying to put music on to play on my bimmer. I have formatted in FAT32 (as default on the disk utility on a mac). Dragged music (non secure MP3's) from itunes, from folders, etc.

The USB stick lights up when plugged into the bmw, but isn't recognized. I have another small usb drive that works fine, so I know the usb bmw system is functioning. I'm sort at a loss of what to do.

I had a similar problem in my old car, certain flash drives do not work for reasons unknown. Check out the e90post, this is talked about often. Try only a few songs and see if that works. There could be a chance that the first mp3 it is trying to read has a strange ID3 tag that could be messing things up..

Well odd, because this stick worked for a day, then I formatted it on my mac and now my radio doesnt see it.

I am using a micro SD/ w a little converter (so it is real small) and it worked great until last night. I did the exact same thing you did, formatted it on my mac, loaded the exact same songs onto it, sure enough it did not work. I put it into my father's m6 w/ iDrive, and it recognized everything perfectly.... So there has to be something that we are missing here....
