Track day insurance

Is it possible to get a one-day track day insurance policy for your car? If so, do you have any insurer recommendations?

Many thanks

shannons cover track days in their normal policy, try them for a one off.

NB the excess for a track accident is hefty

Yes - $5K per annual so once off will still be a lot! Forget it.

How much no claim are you on? Sounds excessive, I've never had a quote from Shannons for any car for that much! Unless you're talking about the excess that is.

At least they cover track days though. Better than, well, just about everyone else.

Black135 - you are wrong. You have to define track days for me.

Track days = sprints then it is not covered in Shannon's normal policy. Anything involving timing = sprints.

Only driver education days will be covered by Shannon. Even these days are not covered by every comprehensive policy out there. Please check your insurance company for black and white to confirm this.

Hope this helps

My approx $5K per year is add on to your normal car insurance - that will cover events run under the CAMS banner.

If you want any explanation, I can go on details on how you or my club - Mazda RX-8 owners club of Victoria (OzRenesis) run track days.... shameless plugs..

Usually the course that you take for the track will have an option for insurance. I took one last summer and it was $5 for every $1000 that you wanted insured. So I was looking at just over $200 for the day.

That may be true in the US but hopefully something like that can happen in Australia.
