Megan Racing sells rear toe links with ball joints and no one has complained about them being noisy.

God job bro !

A member said rear bar was only useful when you get a LSD in addition of the front sway bar.

IMO, the configuration you said is very different from yours : complete suspension kit, front sway bar and different size of tires front and rear It should works better !

I think it depends on the spring rates.
the acs suspension will need the rear bar.

but i thought of getting bilstein coils now.

it's all a balancing act

too high spring rate and car gets bouncy

too stiff roll bars and the car loses traction

etc.

M3 control arms is a win-win mod, stiffer, lighter, slight camber, not too pricey (for the front at least)

Yep, I thibk so too

But, for the coils, you could simply buy a set of sport suspension plus mouting them with your springs (for exemple with your ProKit : the Bilstein B8 ).

Then you will save money and have it for other mods

Naah!! The dampers cost the same amount than the complete pro-kit suspension with springs. What`s about 600 Euro.
The Bilstein is about 860 Euro. And I don`t have much more mods on my list.
The car is now 11 month old and I`m really almost done!
Just ordered 1M mirrors today and next thing is the acs tune.

Mine survived 16 track days and daily driving this year, and they're still silent. For $60, I should probably just make it a routine replacement when I get my alignment in March. But we'll see. So far, I don't have a problem.

shipping would bring the total up by less than it would for me, and i'm not too sure on your customs laws, but most countries have a $ limit on when you have to pay fees

just make sure to source 'trw' items and you'll save $150ish USD over BMW items.

This +1

I spent easily 20-30 hours looking over the internet for the best price for these item, and the intial information that the OEM TRW items even existed and were legit

not only were the UK/EUR items more expensive than the BMW M3 control arms available from ECS, they didn't appear to even have TRW items (at a $150 saving) at all! (i checked places like bmminiparts etc.)

if you can find them for <$466 (australian/US dollars) to your door, please let me know as i'll be unbelievable interested.

ECS has the TRW parts for $382 USD list price with $83 shipping (to australia), which would be a similar total to germany.
.. in fact, a quick check shows $10 less shipping.

Right on. That was just a general fyi for others asking. I'm not the only one. 'CJ421' tracks his E92 alot also and just replaced his RE spherical joints with another type he got from VAC. Maybe check 'em out when you get an alignment? F RE imo

I buy parts at my local dealer, because I get special conditions.
We bought many cars over many years there.
I show them the cheapest price I found and the source and we arrange something. No problem!
Best thing is to get the parts delivered during the next day!

But customs here are about 25% on the price incl. shipping! 19% VAT plus customs (grade depends on the parts).

Plus the EUR prices you found over the internet are incl. 19% VAT!
That`s what makes them more expensive.

No i take the 20% vat off and it's still higher lol

So even for a $100 item you get 25% tax?

Horrible

Still, what sort of prices can you get?

If you can do cheaper than ecs, even shipping to here with no VAT, its probably cheaper for me too!

ED:

it would cost you €415.02 shipped to your door including taxes to purchase it from ECStuning )rough estimate, would be barely more if anything)

"BMW Control Arms has an import duty rate of 3.5% and VAT rate of 19% ."

can you get it for cheaper than that?

that's the control arms, tension rods, and headlight adjustor

i'll bet you a beer when i visit germany that you can't do it cheaper :P

for reference, the BMW parts from ECS landed to here (australia) are something more like $633.62.. and ECS is *CHEAP* compared to other vendors

the thing is, ( i read your reply to dack) is these parts aren't purchased through a BMW dealer and they would not price match them, they're directly from the factory that makes the control arms, TRW, bypassing BMW's markups... still, i'm honestly curious!

So even for a $1 item we get 25% tax!

So you think parts from germany, sent to the states are cheaper to buy in the states and to send back?

I bought the m3 front bar at my local dealer for 120 Euro, source price is $264,43 (without shipping, without taxes and customs) at hpa.

I`d have bought the control arms, tension rods, and headlight adjustor form a member on a german forum used for 180 Euro.
But like I said I decided first to test the new suspension and then see what it needs more.

But I asked my dealer for the front control arms month ago, before a member offered his set and I could get them for 70 Euro each without VAT.
So it`s 83 Euro (plus 19% VAT) TOTAL.
I think your source was about $90 each without shipping and without 19% VAT and without 5-10% customs (dunno what they put on car parts)!

Even if I pay some more, I get the parts delivered to my dealer at the next day and if a part is missing or I want to return parts, it`s way easier and faster to handle.

It`s the same thing with clothes etc. VAT and customs destroy great deals for germans!

Another example was the group buy for the kerscher lip.
I think it was $430 per lip. I payed 190 Euro total!

But on the other hand, parts like vmr wheels or seibon hoods are damn expensive over here!
