aside from some bruising on the chin and waist from seat belt i am ok.
I am terrified to drive esp since I thought deer only come out at night. The deer literally made it across 5 lanes of traffic and a meridian b4 it took me out. Needless to say I will be hunting soon

Seems like everything wound up as good as could be expected. I've been involved in more than one deer collision... it's no fun at all.
PS you had me thinking the 1 was what hit the deer! I almost didn't open the thread. Congrats on the new car! |

Glad everyone is ok, incl the 135i... Looks like the Corolla got off easy... Not much more than a new hood and a bumper cover, I hope...
My brother-in-law hit a deer on the Queensway in Ottawa a few years ago. His Saturn was a write off... Drove through Newfoundland in our Minivan last summer. They don't worry as much about deer out there - you have to watch out for Moose!!!

Sorry to hear about the accident. So glad you and the 135 are ok, would have been the bummer of the decade if it was the 1er that collected the deer.

Wow, seriously, glad you're alright. A friend of mine was hospitalized for a couple weeks after hitting a deer in his vette on the highway a couple years back.
...after that, you've got to be glad the 1's OK, too

As far as stopping power is concerned the 1 had the corolla beat 10 folds.... It literally looked liked the 135 came to a stop and it was the tires that were the ones last to grip the stop. My wife also said she got that "cool" nauseous feeling from hitting the brakes and you shoot out of the seat only to get pulled back by the locking seat belts. I do love the corolla...taken us to killington many times and thru many snow storms up 280 and 95 and for how hard the deer hit it it held up well. Looking forward to meeting you all april 5th meet in bear mtn (check regional section) -d ps how long were you all freaked out of driving for after nailing bambi?
