OT: Our new Turbo BEAST!

Just showing pictures of our new golf

Got a few OEM "mods" coming in already haha...

I think I might put my wheels on the 135i on to the golf and might go swap to something nice and light (thinking of Advan RZ).

The stock headunit on this thing has so much features in comparison to the 135i (non idrive). To name a few there is bluetooth audio streaming, ability to "transfer" your sim card to the car so your car pretty much act as your phone and a special channel for traffic update!

I will be upgrading it to the RNS510 (which is the top of the range one - so much bloody simpler then retrofitting an iDrive to a beemer is literally plug and play and just do a few code changes with a VAG-COM cable!)

Been driving it over the weekend and it is surprisingly zippy for such a small engine, very comfy too!

The DSG is good when we are moving but i don't really like the slight hesitation (like the car doesn't know what to do and has to think ) it does every now and then.

Overall very happy with the car and so far it says it can go for about 750-800km per tank (45L I think) which is damn good compare to the 135i LOL.

Cute little thing. What's the significance behind your number plates?

One thing I love about our VW is the RNS510... it's damn easy to use! The guys on vwgolf had a group buy on the aftermarket versions last year... maybe you can dig up the thread to see which vendor they used. Though honestly, all the ebay ones would work just as well huh.

VW stud pattern is different to BMW's.. are your wheels multistud? Also, I don't think your parents would like 9" wide rear wheels on THEIR car.... lol

Yeah mate the new ones are 7sp, supposedly with the MY12 there are no/less issues with DSG but we will see - got extended warranty anyway just in case.

Advan wheels ftw! If you get them, let me know so we can get together :P

If you tune the VW, you will find the hesitation goes. If you can bluefin it, the car will be very different.

Nice looking car man!

Yeah pricey wheel though just got a quote for it!

Ah right - won't be modding (except for the RNS510 retrofit) the car unless my dad wants to do it.

Surprisingly I really like the grey on the golf - goes really well with it, usually I am not a fan of grey!

Similar this is the 90 TSI - wasn't to keen on the 118 TSI with the plethora of problem that i was reading on it plus you get to save a few $$$ too.

Yeah, Jesse has really good contacts in Japan (since he lives there) so you'll definitely be able to source Advan wheels cheaper through him than any Aussie reseller.
