Is your car on the TOMAR? Strange activity in the North Sea overnight...

So this morning I thought I'd check on the WW Tomar to see if it had made its stop in Bremerhaven, Germany yet. I've no idea what it's doing, but over the past couple of hours it look like it's been going around in circles, and is now delayed by another day - pushing our delivery dates back

Not stressing and appreciate it's out of my control - just thought this activity was rather strange. Perhaps they're dealing with some pretty rough weather.

I've tracked 6 new cars in the past and only one was accurate, more than likely my 135i is currently on the TOMAR along with your M135i, I'm just going to wait for the dealer to phone in order to collect it.

It's not actually. The ship was originally supposed to arrive in Melbourne yesterday, but now it's due on Friday.

BMW's system had a date of Monday 18th for arrival of my car at their distribution center, and this is now the 20th.

It's a long process but the bottom line is there's not a single thing anyone can do to change it.

It'll get here eventually.

If there is no rain ( and they dont prang it on the docks ), usually 5-10 working days..

hmmm sucks your car will be late

I did some work experiance at a freight forwarding company at the end of last year and from my understanding the most likely cause for the circles is "probably" over crowding in the docks, probably because of another vessel being delayed. Each vessel has a allocated time when they can enter the area around the docks, so its not like they can " wait outside".

either way it still sucks

Reminds me of "Hot Shots"

Admiral Benson: [while standing on top of the aircraft carrier, his cap blew off and landed in the ocean] Holy Cow! My cap blew off! Swing her round. We'll pick it up.
Officer: But, sir, we're on the mission.
Admiral Benson: Good thinking. We'll pick it up on the way back. We gotta mark the spot, though. Put Robinowitz in a life raft. Have him row in circles until we return.
Officer: It could be days.
Admiral Benson: Then put some food in the life raft, for god's sake, man. Do I have to think of everything? We'll tape his favorite shows, he won't miss anything.

Ok, so perhaps I'm a little obsessed, but today I thought I'd check the webcams at Port Melbourne docks to see if I could catch a glimpse of the Tomar, and the funniest thing happened. As I logged on to take control of one of the webcams from my iPhone, the Tomar came into view and sailed across my screen, right on cue! I had to laugh out loud, and took a quick screen shot.

Tonight she's docked at Swanson Dock and you can take control of a webcam and watch them unload the cars. Technology is amazing. Anyway, hopefully it's a quick journey now to the dealership so I can take delivery!

For anyone interested, here's a link to the webcam, and the 2nd image below shows the pan, tilt and zoom settings you'll need to find the ship.
