Auto Transmission Fluid change

Hi Lads,

I have 120d and there's about 55000 miles on the clock. I was thinking about getting the ATF changed. The dealer reckons the ATF is a life-time fluid and does not need changing ever. I know that older automatic BMWs used to have their ATF changed at 60000 miles. I'm wondering if anyone has had their ATF changed on the 1 series? I plan on keeping the 120d for a while as it makes a 'good run a round'.

Also does anybody know the auto used in the 120d?

Thanks
Haider

Im doing a transmission flush every 25K miles. Its a safe bet that it works on all Automatics as my dad has been doing this on all of his Ford Wagons and Trucks for the past 20 years. They all have lasted well into the 150K mile range with no mechanical issues other than tune upa and mantinence.
