Opening the rear door first is really no big deal. Assuming your CA is programmed to unlock all doors, just reach forward to the front door handle on the side of the car you are on and it'll unlock all the doors, including the rear door you want opened.

That's what I do when I want to open the door for my son.

Sometimes, I get out of my car and then want to open the rear door to unbuckle my son, especially when he is sleeping. But what happens is the door is locked. Comfort Access will NOT unlock all the doors because the front driver's door is already unlocked. What I do then is lock all the doors by pressing on the grooves and then immediately unlock all the doors by putting my hand on the door handle.

Couldn't you just use the central unlocking button before you get out? Wouldn't this open all the doors?

Yes, I agree I run into that too sometimes (no kids, but I need to grab my jacket out of the back seat). I find that due to the 2-3 CA delay, it's just faster to lean into the car and unlock all doors from the dash.

Well, yes, but I typically forget.

what about the alarm system... when you put your hand on the door handle to unlock the car, does that turn off the alarm system automatically?

I get my son out of the rear passenger side door. All the doors are locked except the front driver side door. Doing the lock-unlock CA move is a lot easier and faster than walking all the way around again, climbing inside, hit the button, and walk all the way around yet again.

I haven't had the need to open the locked rear pessenger door yet, so it's lack of CA on the rear doors hasn't been a problem for me. But, I imagine if I had to open the rear pessenger door first, I'd just unlock them with the remote like how I've been doing it for the last 10 years.
