Upgrade Halogen Headlights
My driving lights stopped working recently so I decided to purchase all new lights for the car to give it a distinctive.
I'm all about reasonably priced modding, so I figured I try the GP Thunder 8500K. I have a base model 128i which does NOT have angel eyes. So this was all about color. I picked up 2 pairs of H7 GP Thunders 8500K and a pair of LED parking lights The replacement is straight forward if you have changed bulbs before. Hardest part was getting the plug off the bulb. I had to the the bulb out and pry the plug off with a screw driver I really like the look of the car. Although I think these do not provide good driving light color. I went for a drive starting a dusk, and I could not even tell the headlights were on, even though I could clearly see every other cars headlight reflection off the ground. As it began to get darker, I could start see the headlights better. During full darkness through the woods the headlights were sufficient, but still lacking compared to OEM. One thing I did notice is as I passed opposing traffic (most with the highbeams still on...), the oncoming headlight did not conceal my headlights as much. Basically it was easier to see the lines while meeting oncoming traffic. I think this is a huge benefit. I'll probably go with something else next time around... maybe in the 6K range. Turn signals are next, they need to go. On to the pictures (I was washing the car in the first pics) |
