o2 sensor gone bad?

hey guys i got a code p3026 which is o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1, i was just wondering what will happen if i dont get that changed? let me know thanks!

Sensor 1 you want to change if it's having a problem. That's what the computer relies on to get a AFR reading when your cruising along. The computer won't act right and you will have basic drivability problems from it going into what ever kind of safety mode it will have for that condition. I don't know about BMW but I know some of my other cars would run pig rich and run like crap. Then again my saturn didn't seem to make a bit of difference.
