Supersprint Mids

Installed today, so far just pics.. video to come.. The exhaust noise is much deeper than stock, along with a burble.

Might be a nice alternative to the MadDad pipes- what is the cost of this mid-pipe?

A lot, they're $1,257.39 usd, plus the necessary welding of a flange on for the oem donut gasket.

They are bolt on, welding is optional. I didn't do it and seems ok. I choose it because I wanted no cats and no resonators. Plus Maddads and Berks seem nearly impossible to buy..

YIKES! $1,200+ buckO's... Why wouldn't you just buy some factory N55 mids(~$400) and have a muffler shop replace the resonator on the N55 mids. Or just use the N55 mids as is. ?

Did you take the sticker off the pipes after install? They might be hard to remove if left on!

So no droning? I worked with rich/MadDad when they initially developed the mids (for the 135i), and the reason they added the small 'resonators' was because they found straight pipes introduced drone.

Nice looking, but still pricey as an alternative.

I had an exhaust shop custom make me straight mids identical to those for my 135i vert..$450AUS..

Connected to OEM DP's and OEM rear muffler and had no drone..Awesome bark at WOT..

I tried to remove the stickers, its a Pain in the a@@... so I left them on, and eventually the heat of the pipes will force them off..

I had no problems getting Berk mid pipes, and getting stuff from Rich@Maddad isn't an issue either, if they aren't in stock a few weeks wait and you'll get them. The thing to remember with Maddad is you pretty much need to buy direct.

Drone is a subjective thing. IF you like it, that's all it matters.

Personally, I'm happy with my set up: OEM DP, N55 mid and HMS tuning rear.

AFAIK, N55 midpipe has no secondary cat, just a resonator. N54 has secondary cats and is more restrictive compared to N55. Supersprint mid is just a straight pipe.

A lot of people goes with N55 mid because it is not costly and allow deeper exhaust note without the drone.

Correct for the N55/N54, also N55 pipe is lighter than our stock pipe. SS on the other hand offers alternatives for every section of the exhaust. For the mids you can choose among: with cats and resonator like our stock, with cats no resonator, without cats but resonator (like N55 and Maddads) and finally full straight. It is indeed pretty modular their offers. I would dare to try their straight pipe myself if I had the chance but experimenting with 1M is over for me and am pretty happy with my Evolve (Supersprint) Race with N55 mids, just enough dose of bark and pop depending on where your right foot is.
