My opinion, yes. Save the money and do the rear.

I've never been a fan of trying to make something look like something it's not...
Stranger: "Sweet a 1M?" You: "No, it's just a 1M bumper and fenders" Stranger: "Oh!" AWKWARD!

With a 1M front it will end up looking like this: http://www.evolutionracewerks.com/?q=node/55
If you want to look more into this whole idea of just a front end conversion, look up sk8fe's thread (http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=684100&page=3) post#52 If you did just the front end you'd need custom side skirts. As far as parts go, try out McKenna's site, I wish they had those kind of deals when I was looking a couple months back. https://mckennaparts.com/ If you need a part number to use McKenna's site, look em up via realoem My personal opinion is no half-measures. You will have to chop something up no matter which way you decide to do it. You need to decide if if you would rather slice up side skirts or rear fenders. As EinserM mentioned, ilikebmxbikes and I are actually in the middle of this modification. I can't put up a build thread myself just yet(once a couple things have cleared, then I will). But for a sample here is how ilikebmxbikes's car looks will just the new 1M front end: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=793184 Side-note: There seems to be another question thread like these every week. Patience y'all we will have a thorough set of build threads done in the next few weeks. |

It's been done a few times before. I don't think it looks weird. I'm planning to do it myself too. I'm just holding off to see if Prior ever releases their new kit (and the price), since I don't want to look exactly like a 1M.
Most people won't notice the fact that it looks like a 1M. For the few people that do, I don't mind taking the time to explain. I might even put an emblem on the back that says "not M". I don't want to make it look like I'm trying to copy a 1M... I just think that this is the most cost-effective way to do a front-end widebody.

i like the m1 front bumper, but i think itll look weird. i just wanted some input. if it was to widen the rear as it is the front i would do the rear and not touch the front.

I think people forget that we run a staggered wheel setup on the 135i because the front is already not as wide as the back of the car. If you do the wide kit on only the front, all it will do it square up the car and let you run a square wheel setup - reducing understeering and improving the feel of the car.

The wrapped blue e87 had only the front 1M clone'd bumper cover. So it has the narrow front end(& rear end). I think it looked fine.
I think IF you were to put a complete 1M front end on your car... it would look fine without doing the rear. I do think you will need some spacers or the M suspension bits to fully pull off the 1M look. This blue 1er was seen at last years Welt 3.0 car show.

I think it really just boils down to what you want to do with your car. If you are going for a purely cosmetic standpoint, then I would do the kerscher bumper. It will be much cheaper in the long run of the project.
If you are going for performance and want to reduce understeer, than widening the front of your car and running a square set up will greatly improve your car. Do note, if you get the 1M bumper, and fenders, you will also need headlight brackets, new windshield washer reservoir, all bumper/fender trim pieces and you will have to custom modify your 135i sideskirts to line up with the 1M fenders. |

if doing a front and rear to m1 it will cost around 5-7k, rather spend that on nice aftermarket bumpers engine mods nice wheels and etc |
