Heard the word... Car will definatley be in. Hit US soil yesterday and dealer is saying April 30 or May 1 for delivery...

Geeslice: First of all, congratulations, your car is nearly here. We are working on time and place first. It's really more like a get together...a chance for posters to come out and meet each other, check out each other's e90s, share technical knowledge and the obligatory photoshoot. We would probably follow that by a caravan/drive and cap it off with food and drinks (if we haven't gotten to that already). Ways that we are considering to make things more interesting is to hold the meet in conjunction with local BMW CCA events, joint-meet with other e-series Bimmers (for e.g. been touching base with E39 members who are keen to do this with us) and so on...

As I mentioned, please keep those ideas rolling...the success of this meet will be because of joint-effort

Actually its not a bad idea...it's in my books...this is the place I was looking at:

We can do a Mini-Gran Prix: 25 laps to qualify and 40 laps race...but its pricey at $80 pp (8 pax min)..also i was thinking it kinda defeats the purpose of having an e90 meet, as it is an non-e90 activity.

I like the way you think...its one of the reason I brought up fed-ex field...just so darn familiar with the place from all the ride-n-drive events I attended there, the last few years. You'd have to rent space though...

I am trying to get in touch and learn from motorcycle groups for ideas as they frequently arrange meets involving large numbers and go for caravan rides...exactly what we are striving for.

Shim: Could you work on graphics to use for making temp plates/tags just like the HK crowd. Thinking of fashioning some simple monotone paper/cardboard (waxed for water resistance) with a magnetic back (to attach to front/rear tags)...other ideas are welcome, needs to be somewhat durable to use multiple times.

Thanks to some fine string pulling by our fellow e90poster ase2dais, we have finally secured a meeting venue that should work for everyone.

Passport BMW, a local area dealer with a stellar reputation in our community, has kindly offered their facilities lot for us to meet. They are also willing to have a setup for BBQ cooking as well.

Time: Tentatively Sunday, MAY 21st or Sunday, May 28th (Memorial Day Weekend)

They will provide attendees with gifts bags(shirts, mugs, caps, brochures, key rings, discounts coupons). Ase2dais is working on them to provide BMW Jackets for a lottery or car of the meet winners. They have alloted a budget for us, and it will be in a war chest ready to be used.

Ase2dais has also asked them to have an M3 for us to see and maybe test out. We are proposing for a technician to make an appearance for brief tech talks or Q & A session as well as product specialists/CAs will be on hand to answer questions. Of course the usual BMW range will be at hand to look at and test drive for interested parties.

They only asked that we spread news of their goodwill and their support of the BMW community.
