Ok, long overdue Hankook Ventus V12 evo

Sorry friends, I should have had this up a while ago. I have had the Hankooks on my 128i Sport for about 1000 miles. You should take my review with a grain of salt, as I have nothing to compare them with other than the Pirelli eufori@ run flats.

First, the price. $605 installed with road hazard warranty from America's Tire. Not bad at all.

The ride is noticeably improved. The roads here in NorCal suck, freeway included. There is less bounce and thrash. They are more comfortable overall than the runflats. When I am taking some rough curves and twisties, they aren't as easily unsettled as the runflats either.

As far as noise goes, no issues. I had read a few complaints about noise, but not on my 128i. I think they are quieter if anything.

They also track straight and true. The freeway here is under permanent construction, with lots of uneven pavement and irregularities. The eufori@'s were downright scary. The Hankooks handle this with no issues.

When it comes to exploring the limits, I definately feel that the Hankooks are great. Just driving the twisties on the way home, I can feel that the limit is far away. My experience at BMWCCA car control clinic over the weekend brought me closer to that limit and I have no complaints. The car was very predictable and I look forward to playing around with it more in the future. Wet weather report soon, it's gonna pour by morning.

I love my Hankook's. Best choice I've made on tires.

Question for Zinman74

Hey,

What sizes are your hankooks? Do you have a staggered setup(ie sport package) with 215's front and 245 rears?

Thanks

Garage List
2008 135i  [6.50]
I got a set of 235/40s and 265/35s sitting in my garage waiting for the wheels.
It's like waiting for the car to come in all over again.

I put the Hankook Evo V12 on last month then the next day had to go on a three week business trip so did not get a chance to test them out. When I got back it was 40 deg. F or below and the DSC light comes on way more than the run craps did. I figured it was the temperature and your review makes me feel better about it especially since the Hankook’s are a little wider than the run craps. I do notice the car rides better and like you don’t notice any increased road noise.
