Cog grinding sound with Comfort Access!
Something strange happened today.......
When I put my hand on the handle to open the car door I heard and felt something not unlike a grinding of cog teeth as the door unlocked. Never heard it before and have not heard it again despite trying to replicate the fault. Has this happened to anyone else??

Yes....very much like a rachetting noise! Have you encountered that?

I have had a couple of funny noise when opening passenger door.
I get out of driver's side, then walk around to get my daughter out. Because I use my right hand, and come from the back of the car, as I pull the handle, my palm also brushes the "lock" ribs on top of the handle. Given I've stopped driving, I presume the system is expecting to be locked at some stage. This results in the door releasing and locking almost simultaneously. This has result in a terrible cacophony of grinding noises on a couple of occasions. I try to be more deliberate when reaching for passenger door when car is expecting to be "locked". Does this help, or am I totally off with your scenario?

Yes, this has happened to me twice. Once during European Delivery, and once now that the car is back in the states.
It seems that it mostly happens if I am too quick to open the door after comfort access unlocks it.

This is definitely the scenario that happened to me. I will have to mention it at first service but as usual if they can't recreate it they can't do anything about it.

+1 same here...if I unlock the door via remote, and touch the sensor on the door while opening it, the unlock goes berzerk.
I'm now even more extra careful touching the door handle when opening the door.

Disagree.
It's just the door getting a bit confused because of the simultaneous locking-opening manoeuvre with CA. You just have to be very particular placing your hand on the handle when opening a door, when the car is anticipating being locked.
