E88: Wrapping A-Pillar
So I've long-hated the look of the bare plastic A-pillars and windshield frame on my 2010 convertible. A quick search through realoem shows that this part number has not changed throughout the life of the 1-series.
Sure enough, the 2013 335i convertible I have as a loaner has A-pillar and windshield frame wrapped in the same texture and material as the dashboard. It's exactly the look that I want for my E88. Why BMW couldn't have done this on the 1-series is maddening. The question is: does anyone know how/where to get this material? I'll probably have a professional do the wrapping if I can find the goods. Thanks. |

I wonder if that part can be retrofit?

You can retrofit the headliners/pillars with the m-sport black ones. But for what it's worth, I don't see it as a realistic option (money wise). Unless you have all the money to blow

I found a guy who uses Hexis materials. There was a leather wrap that I felt would be comparable to what's stock on the dash/doors/etc. He wanted $225 to do those 3 pieces. It's kinda spendy but not out of the realm of possibility. Ultimately it's quite a few miles out of my way and I'm going to get more quotes.
