Lack of Turn Signal Indicators on mirrors
Did BMW cheap out on us?
Most decent cars have it these days, even VW golf. They add to safety and car image/looks. Pretty sure the facelifted 1 will get it, but why not implement it from the start? New MB CLS ones are really nice, they are arrow shaped with 2 lines pointing in the direction of the turn.. |

No BMW has them now. I can't see them bucking the trend on the 1. It has the side turn indicators in the fenders that are visible from the side, so there's no safety issue.

facelift? the car has just been facelifted, as far as i can tell the face lift will be when the next 1er is introduced. I know this has been talked about on other threads but anyone else think so?

That's is then!... my Porsche doesn't have the turn signals in the mirrors either. I'll sell it tomorrow... and get a Lincoln Navigator instead... it has some really nice ones.

But speaking of mirrors - I drove a 320d in Italy last year. The side mirrors were planar, but had a kinked section, demarcated by a vertical line, about 2/3 of the way outboard. The kinked out section gave a wider field of view without the size distortion of a convex mirror. This seemed like a really good idea. Is there some regulatory reason we don't get those? |

Those things are meant for soccer moms and unnecessarily large suvs.
I like the side marker indicators on the fender. Larry is 100% right

Turn signal indicators on the mirrors? Really? Why? Bling? Am I too old for this forum?
