Thumbs up 325i/330i will be discontinued but I'm still happy with my purchase

With all these threads of people wishing they had waited for the 328i/335i, I thought I'd start a more positive one.

The 325i and 330i will be discontinued but I'm still happy with my purchase. When I bought my 2006 E90 325xi, the MSRP was exactly the same as the 2005 model. There was no price difference but I got a new design, more horsepower (+30 hp), and more features. In addition, I got a fair discount and BMW's Maintenance Program (which may be discontinued?). I'm happy with my purchase. I honestly don't think I could've waited any longer. Since May, I had to wait a painstaking 4 months for the X-drive option, and then another 2 months for the car. If I had to wait until Fall 2006 (another 9 months) I might go insane.

I hope current E90 are also happy with their purchase. And good luck to those who are still waiting for the 328i / 335i.

I agree with you; I am very happy with my decision and I don't care what comes out.

Some people are never satisfied.

You know the new models are going to cost more and look the same.

Honestly, I haven't even looked at any of the threads on the 328/335.

It sounds like the only change is the engine.

If you want more power wait until a chip comes out.

By the way; nice looking car.

It's still not official from BMW although certain ppl on this forum will swear by it.

Like it has been mentioned, the models will change constantly. Just be happy with what you have... it's a great car either way.

I am one of those who does swear by that fact that bmw will bring to the public a new engine because of the history of the e46 models and other previous generations. I seriously can care less though. I will be happy with my beautifull e90 no matter what other options, engines, or colors they'll come out with in the future. It doesnt depreciate my car in my eyes.

I agree, if I waited for the next best thing I'd be waiting forever, my computer I bought 3 years ago is like stone age, but I still love it

What's the problem? Every car maker upgrades the specifics at least once or twice duting an cycle. It is done to keep sales moving.

From the sounds of it, I will be getting my car very near the threshold of the model switch over (I expect the car to be delivered to my dealer 1st or 2nd week of July) and I have no regrets about not waiting for the new model. All e90s are great and the power difference between the different models isn't really much. I expect the 328/335's performance improvements will be slight but noticable, but not enough to keep me waiting any longer than I already have to. I'll probably replace the 2006 with a 2009 or 2010 series eventually and I'm sure the release of something new relative those cars will be on the horizon then.

I agree, the E90 325 is a wonderful car, especially compared to my old e46 323.

I don't care what models come out during the e90 lifetime. My car will go the distance I intend on keeping it for just like my previous e36 and e46 cars did.

If however, one CAN wait for an engine upgrade whenever it comes out, then no problem. Who know when the engines will be upgraded. As it stands, the N52 is an upgraded engine anyway.

More than enough for my requirements until 2012 or somewhere around then when BMW will no doubt again introduce the next 3 series. Till then I am enjoying every minute driving my car.

Having said that, I'm happy as an unenlightened obsessive/possessive materialist.

No an impact at all. All 325+ 3-Series models have the beautiful magnesium new design engine. Unlike the Benz C320 ( 218hp, 31kg/m, SOHC,5sp Auto) replaced by C350 (272hp 35kg.m,DOHC,7G Tronic), which was a true pain for the new C320 owners.

have to agree here with ward... my 330i has all the luxury of a modern BMW sports sedan with the playful teutonic demeanor of my long loved 1989 e30....anyone else share this view.?

I know we tend to celebrate our first bimmer but there is something about the posture of these that really brings me back...e36 and e46 just didn't have the "play" know what I mean

There will always be new models/modifications, but if you bought the right car (engine/extras etc) you wonīt care. Itīs when you have the slightest regret you get problems :-)
Personally I would like the 335xi if thereīll be one, but I am pretty sure I wouldnīt want to pay the difference, itīs probably going to be priced close to the S4...
