Drive away locking, How?...

My dealer has told me this is an owner configurable feature, and
that it is turned on or off using the stalks.

I have had a software update today and would like to know how it is done. Can someone please tell me to do it.

Of interest is that they said I could have it for £180. I am suspecting that if I have had a full update I may have got it and they have not told me. I would like to check.

On another note... I have a pre september UK car and it does play MP3. It continues to do so after my update.

On your turn signal stalk there is a button, push it in and once an icon appears on your computer (between the gauges), you can scroll up down with the stalk, I think the logo is a key, hit the button again and one of the choices should be locking. This is from memory and applies to non-iDrive cars.

I thought it had to be programmed by the dealer for free?

Or not lol, I'm thinking E46.

Post-September production cars have this as one of the features you can enable yourself (it is available on mine).

I have configured this on my iDrive equipped e90. Do you have iDrive?

Yep. If you request this feature, they will update the software on your pre-sept. car to accomodate drive away locking.

Either that, or the unsupported, inferior, incomplete, unfinished designed, half-assed pre-September E90s.

I'm sorry, did I go off on another rant? It's an involuntary reflex.

No problem, at least your e91 is fully-assed.

I think I did not get it.
The key referred to earlier in the display is to do with units of measurements.

It is a non idrive car. which I think most euro models certainly most in the UK are. Idrive here costs $4k+.

Nevermind.
